The Donna Foundation Evening on the Pink Carpet

Local Breast Cancer Survivors Model in "Pink Carpet" Fashion Show

Jacksonville, Fla (Aug. 9, 2011) Last year’s first annual “An Evening on the Pink Carpet” event proved to be a huge success and is back to showcase more than 20 breast cancer reconstruction patients in fabulous fashions from participating area boutiques and stores.  The models are patients of Dr. Rebecca Glasser of Parkway Plastic Surgery, and will grace the stage on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the Florida Theatre.  The event is hosted by The Donna Foundation and Parkway Plastic Surgery and presented by MIA Styling.

An Evening on the Pink Carpet will feature a special presentation and fashion show at 7:30 p.m. at The Florida Theatre, 128 East Forsythe Street, in Downtown Jacksonville. A 6:00 p.m. VIP reception with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres for VIP ticket holders takes place prior to the presentation. First Coast News Anchor and three-time breast cancer survivor Donna Deegan, founder of the Donna Foundation, will host a pre-show reception. Proceeds will benefit First Coast women living with breast cancer.

“Besides the obvious physical effects, breast cancer can take a devastating toll on a woman’s emotions even after her cancer is removed or goes into remission,” says Dr. Rebecca Glasser of Parkway Plastic Surgery. “We specialize in post-mastectomy reconstructive surgery that helps restore a breast cancer survivor’s look and her confidence. We’re looking forward to seeing our patients grace the runway, looking and feeling beautiful and helping fellow and future breast cancer survivors do the same.”

“This is such a wonderful way to honor women who have survived and thrived through breast cancer,” says Donna Deegan.  “This night is a pure celebration of life.  A huge “thank you” to Dr. Glasser and all of our sponsors allowing us to showcase both the inner and outer beauty of these amazing women.”

Tickets for An Evening on the Pink Carpet are available through The Florida Theatre (www.floridatheatre.com) and are $35.00 General Admission and $75 VIP. Levels constitute preferential seating and admission to the VIP reception. Additional ticket sale locations are listed on The Donna Foundation website at www.thedonnafoundation.org under “EVENTS”.
