When the Jacksonville, Fla. chapter of the St. Boniface Haiti Foundation hosted its first surgical trip of the year in February they achieved a milestone for the St. Boniface Hospital: Clearing the general surgery waiting list for the first time since the operating room opened in 2000. The list is expected to fill up quickly again with patients needing surgical care that doctors in Haiti are not immediately equipped to provide, but when the surgical team left Haiti on February 20 they had successfully operated on all 35 patient on the current waiting list.
